Drunken nights at MacLaren's

This is one of my all time favourite polishes.
I do like my greens. (And my blues!) So when I saw the little green half moon glitters, I instantly got the idea to make this polish.

Drunken nights at McLaren's is not inspired by one single episode, but by the Irish bar that the gang always hang in. And also live right above.

A lot of crazy things have happend in this bar....

Like the pencil incident...

And the election night when Barney had to decide which strip club would become his new regular...

And that time Ted and Barney decided to get even...

And when Barney decided to play 'Barney's favourite things' and give away cool stuff. Like on Oprah.

And, you know, just your regular drunken night at the bar:

So I got inspired by the fact that MacLaren's is an Irish pub. Therefore there's a lot of green glitter in different shades and sizes in this polish.
It comes in a clear base, but it's also filled with midnight blue micro glitter to give it a nighty finish.

Here's two coats layered over black:

Oh, and btw, did you know that there in fact is a real MacLaren's in New York City?

It's a little bar called McGee's, loctaed at 240 W. 55th Street. This is the bar that the magnificient Carter Bays and Craig Thomas (the creators of HIMYM) frequented on a regular basis, and it would later become the inspiration for their fictional bar, MacLaren's.

And it's named after Carter Bay's Irish assistant, Carl MacLaren, who was also the namesake for Carl, the bartender at MacLaren's.

McGee's is supposed to look almost the same as the bar set of the tv show... So forget SATC the Tour - when I go to NYC (I simply just HAVE to one day!) I won't be stepping on that pink bus, I'll be going downstairs in the dark to visit 'MacLaren's'...

Remember the night Lily Kicked Korean Elvis in the Nards?

'Kicked Korean Elvis in the Nards' is from one of my favourite episodes (although you really shouldn't have favourites among your kids, eh? ;))

It's from the episode 'Nothing good happens after 2 am', where something epic happens. Something about Robin and Ted. And Victoria, Ted's cup cake fling.

But that's not what's important in this episode. Korean Elvis is what's important!

Because he shows up one night and tours with the gang, while they try to prevent Ted from making a mistake, which is going out after 2 AM.

At one point Korean Elvis annoys Lily so much, she turns around and kicks him in the nuts. Making Barney proclaim the night has become legendary by saying this phrase: "Hey, you guys, remember the time that Lily kicked Korean Elvis in the nards?"

Epic! Not to say: Legendary! Especially Barney's face ;D
I love the phrase, the episode and of course Lily's dress! So I just had to make a polish inspired by the colours she's wearing :)

It's a white base two-coater filled with red, black and gun metal glitter.
Here it's layered over bare nails:

Btw, when I googled the name to find this pic, I discovered that I'm not the only one who's crazy-crazy about this TV-show.

Because someone has made a facebook page for that comment. And there's 123 likers!

Oh, Honey..!

I love Katy Perry. She was my first inspiration to create funny, creative nail art, and the first OPI I ever bought was actually 'Last Friday Night'.

Every time I listen to that Katy song, I get an sudden urge to go paint my nails ;D

So, I love Katy, I love her nails and her music - so of course I had to pay my respect to the lovely lady and create a polish inspired by the HIMYM-episode 'Oh, Honey', where she's a guest star.

Katy plays this incredible naïve girl named... Well, nobody remember her name. What they do remember, though, is that every time she opens her mouth someone says or thinks: 'Oh, Honey!'

Like Katy, I really like red and black together, so I got inspired to do this polish by looking at Katy's.... top!

It's a red jelly base filled with black hex glitters - and some red to give it a nice sparkle.
In the pictures I'm wearing two coats on bare nails.

I Finally Glow in the Dark

Please welcome the newest member of the WellNails family:
I Finally Glow in the Dark

Omg, I was so excited when the glow in the dark-stuff came in the mail yesterday, I just had to run upstairs to my little polish maker table and play around with it.

At times like that I'm happy that Mister Man aren't at home these days, because literally all night went by making test of this polish. And he would not be happy with that.

Out came a stunning result, if I must say so myself.

I simply just love it. It's everything I wanted it to be in my head :D

In the dark

I artificial light, no flash

Alright, an introduction is needed:

I Finally Glow in the Dark is part of the 'How I Met Your Mother' collection.
It's inspired by the episode "False Positive" from season six.

Lily and Marshall learns that a positive pregnancy test was false, and that causes Barney to spend all his Christmas bonus money on a suit covered in real diamonds. Ted yells at him to take it back to the store, and this is where Barney utters the phrase "But Ted, I glow in the dark. I finally glow in the dark!"

And I just knew, I had to make a polish inspirered by that :D

That's why "I Finally Glow in the Dark" is filled with silver shreds and black glitter. And then there's the holographic blue. Well, I figured: When do you wear a glow in the dark polish anyway? When you go out clubbing, right? So to funk it up, I added the holo blue. Making it beautiful during day - non glowing - as well, I think. That was my intention anyway.

WARNING: Do not put this on and fuel the glow right before bedtime. It will keep you up at night, because you will lay and wave your hands around, pretending it's a dangerous fish mouth or something like that. Should be kept away from kitties as well.

Anyway, let me know what you feel about this?

I've got a few more glows in mind. But if you're not liking this one, I'll rethink the whole concept ;)

Put On Your Ducky Tie!

So we all know Barney's a little hung up on his ties, right...
Therefore it's a cruel punishment to him, when Marshall orders him to wear a ducky tie for the rest of the year, because he looses a bet.

And he's not particually happy about it...

I just love yellow and blue together, but it tends to get kinda Swedish (since the Swedish flag is infact yellow and blue, if you didn't know this). And though I think Sweden is a fine country, I'm glad that this ducky tie also has got orange in it ;)

I've mixed some sapphire blue holographic glitter with some neon yellow glitter and matte orange glitter.
I really like the outcome of it :)
